Difference in the box score was NKU hit 9 threes to CSU's 1. Both teams struggled at the free throw line. CSU turned NKU over 22 times and lost. That's rough. I was totally fine with the sequence at the end. Fouling up 3 when they too struggled at the line I was okay with. The defense at the end I can't fault - one guy looked to follow Sam Vinson, who had scored 7 points in a 60 second stretch just before that. Warrick hit a 28-29 footer and won the game. Brutal but have to get credit where it's due.
A win Saturday would be pretty nice. a 2-1 road trip would look good.

The only thing I disagree with is they didn’t just foul anyone, they fouled Warrick. He’s a career 80% free throw shooter and he finished 3/4 yesterday. He wasn’t struggling like some others were. Put it like this, without fouling, the worst case scenario is we have the last shot in a tie game and if we miss it goes to OT. With fouling, the worst case scenario is we don’t make both free throws and we lose.

And that is what happens when you don't hit your free throws. This offense is terrible

This game was not lost at the end. This was a team effort and it began with mishaps at the very begining. The Norse understood our MO and packed the paint. When any of the Vikes drove inside, the Norse were waiting. Amost every shot was heavily contested. Or we just missed point blank shots. It was a typical game that the Vikes were destined to loose (outside shots would not fall). That has been the pattern all year and I don't see that changing.
Good D (which the Vikes have) keep you in games. No offense eliminates the posibility of winning. What made this game close is that the Norse could not score either. And both clubs were throwing the ball to the invisable man. This was a very sloppy contest (almost unwatchable).

Robinson chose not to foul up 3 versus Milwaukee at the end, they made the 3to send it to OT, and lost in overtime. People crushed him for that. He fouls here in the same spot, people don't like it. Can't have it both ways. I always support fouling up by 3 with under 10 seconds left because all you have to do is have a good inbounds, make your free throws and you can't lose. I guess to each their own on the opinion in that spot. The only criticism I would have of the sequence at the end last night was they should have ran a specific play to get the ball to Yahel Hill, who shoots over 80% at the line. Also would have been nice to see CSU run that full court inbounds play they always ran under Dennis Gates where Tre Gomillion was always wide open and he would run down and dunk it haha

My complaint after the Milwaukee game was that Parker flopped and then watched the offensive rebound go to his man while he laid on the ground. If he plays solid defense we win that game too because the rebound would have bounced right to him. It’s a genuine argument that can go either way. But it’s usually not a clear cut decision with a consensus. And these two games showcase why.

Setting up the play for Enaruna didn’t make sense and made fouling a bigger gamble. He’s normally reliable but he was shooting 40% for the game on over 10 attempts. He’s not the guy we needed at the line in that situation.

I agree it was ugly but we were a couple inches from celebrating a hard fought win on the road against a quality opponent. Somehow they found a way to score enough to win despite all the flaws you listed.

This was going to boil down to luck and the least incompentent team walks away with the W. The way the dagger went in at the end is what is nawing at everyone.
