1. Youngstown State 2. Milwaukee 3. Cleveland State 4. Northern Kentucky 5. Oakland
6. Robert Morris vs. 11. IUPUI
7. Wright State vs. 10. Green Bay
8. Detroit Mercy vs. 9. Purdue Fort Wayne
CSU plays Robert Morris unless: IUPUI upsets RMU, we’d get WSU; OR IUPUI and Green Bay both pull upsets, we'd get Detroit/PFW winner.

Ah now that the pretend games are over with, let the real season begin. "There can be only one"

Ironic IUPUI just beat Robert Morris but that was on their home floor and now they are at Robert Morris.
We swept both teams but had much more trouble with Robert Morris this year then Wright State.

From the official Horizon League release, it says YSU’s regular season championship is the first outright championship since the 2019-20 season.
I believe that statement to be false. Although CSU and Wright State had the same record in 2020-21, the season was played under that weird formula rule due to the unbalanced schedule and CSU was awarded the top seed. I believe the league made a statement before that season that there would be no shared regular season title, the winner of the formula seeding would be declared the outright regular season champion.
Does anybody else remember this the same way? Some quick googling and I can’t find that exact wording, just references to the formula awarding the top seed. I also see that the Wright State Wikipedia page lists a regular season championship for that season.
I know there was a lot of criticism of the formula, especially from the WSU side, but I thought it was fair since we played two games at WSU that season and none at home, plus we missed IUPUI and added extra games against a solid PFW team.
Anyway, no big deal, just something I found interesting and maybe a modern day “disputed championship” that we see often in the history of college football from the obscure poll days.

Interesting how the Quins went from boat anchor to champs. They have improved as the seasons passed by and won the games they should. I hope they represent the HL well in the NIT.

That one guy who went crazy and traded in his CSU gear and became a YSU fan is finally happy lol. I’m not happy for him, but I’m happy for Calhoun. He’s a Cleveland guy who played at CSU and really wanted this job. Turns out he would have been a much better hire than Felton. It also turns out that we probably ended up better off in the long run.

I found my answer: I did remember it correctly, except I forgot the HL reversed their decision in the last week of the season to allow co-champions. www.daytondailynews.com/sports/horizon-league-reverses-course-will-allow-co-champions-in-case-of-tie/6KCXAR4Z5NAM3O4YTG7L3BPDCU/

Was listening to Hoops HD tonight who covers every conference and does a show every single night for champ week 1 of the panel picked Wright State to win the tournament and the main host said "Wright State should have no problem with CSU in the 2nd game" before another panel member pointed out they won't be playing CSU most likely. Funny how he felt a team that got beat handily twice will be the team having no problem winning.

IUPUI comes all the way back to tie the game at 64 only to see Robert Morris hit a 3 in the final seconds (going off play by play who knows what really happened)
CSU vs Robert Morris it is

1. YSU vs. 9. Detroit 2. Milwaukee vs. 7. Wright State 3. CSU vs. 6. RMU 4. NKU vs. 5. Oakland I think RMU is the best draw the Vikes could hope for. There is no easy win for the Vikes. I expect the Quins to outscore Detroit. MKE does not match up well against WSU. NKU plays well at home.

I think he has fared the best of ex-Vikes (while still in college). All ACC is not bad. I suspect he will be overseas or a 2nd round pick next year.
