I still think these are courtesy interviews. I would be really surprised to see them go the high school route.

Frankly I think providing a HS coach is high risk for an AD. If there will always be a cloud of doubt the coach will need to overcome and if things go south (and they have in the land of Viking basketball) they will quickly blame the AD the hire.
Note, I'm not saying HS coaches are bad. I am saying that there is no comparable track record to evaluate them on. Therefore a high risk hire.
