Since all of this craziness is happening really late in the college basketball season, and we are literally down to 5 players on the roster, and its very possible soon we won't even be able to field a team, how likely would it be that CSU men's basketball doesn't play next year? People are seriously talking about hosting on campus tryouts to fill the roster. Why not skip a season, let the search firm take it's time so we actually get the right coach, and let them recruit a year and build a full team ready to go for the 2020-2021 season? I really don't see the point of having all walk ons play the 2019-2020 season and us going 0-30 or 2-28 with 2 wins versus D3 programs. It would just be embarrassing and look bad. I'm just saying take a year to reset the program and get everything in order before starting play again. This may be an unprecedented idea and never done before in D1, but just an idea I had.

They are contractually obligated to play even if that is just showing up with a bunch of walks on which some people I have talked to believe is a distinct possibility. I was told by a current assistant college basketball coach that it would be almost impossible to recruit guys at this point. School is ready to enroll talent well has dried up and what exactly is the selling point to any recruit? I even brought up grad transfers and he said what senior wants to go 3-25 in their last year.

Their only hope Is for the coach to try and convince Milner and the others to come back. And that all depends on Garrett getting the coach in play. Iam rooting for Kimbrough. I like Flannery and Sonny as well as asst. Coaches. Drew is a very long shot.

This kind of reminds me of the movie "The Replacements". Except the other teams still exists. Maybe closer to "Major League" with the evil owner.

Perhaps the school can entice recruits by announcing that the team is changing it's name to the "Washington Generals" for the 2019-2020 season.

I went with the Necessary Roughness reference on Twitter this morning. Seeing as how it's likely CSU might have to pull players from the student body, I thought it made sense.

Canceling the season is stupid.
