Green Bay @ Detroit Mercy (-9.5, 131.5) - Detroit has been a really good team all year at home, losing only 1 time to break a 15 game home winning streak overall. Player of the Year Antoine Davis looked healthy in their last game. Green Bay is a very young team that won only 4 games all year. The Superfan likes Detroit to mop the floor with Green Bay and start the tournament off strong. Detroit giving 9,5 is the play here.
Robert Morris @ Youngstown State (-8.5, 141.5) - The last time these teams played, it was at Youngstown State and the Colonials were down by 10 with 6 minutes to go, then rattled of a 12-0 run and ended up winning by 5. the game @ Robert Morris between these two this year was back and forth the entire game with Jerrod Calhoun squeaking out a 4 point win. Each team starts 2 seniors, but I think RMU senior Kahliel Spear is the hottest player on teh court in this game and he will have this game be very close, with a decent chance that RMU can pull off the upset. The Superfan loves RMU getting 8.5 here.
IUPUI @ Oakland (-23, 124) - Anyone who follows college basketball knows that IUPUI was #358, the worst team in all of Division I, all season long. For this tournament game, they literally will only be dressing 5 players. Zero bench. Oakland is the most talented team in the conference. The only question here is when does coach Greg Kampe pull his starters with another tournament game on Thursday on the road looming. Kampe does have a history of not using his bench at all, and on Saturday versus Cleveland State with nothing on the line he played his starters normal minutes, so I'll assume Oakland plays their starters the entire game. That being the case, give me Oakland minus the 23 and a chance to set an all time Horizon League tournament game margin of victory.
UIC (-2.5, 143.5) @ Milwaukee - Milwaukee is actually the lower seed but gets a home game here as UIC forfeits a home game because they are leaving the conference. The Superfan thinks this will be a close game with a good chance for overtime, so the smart pick here is OVER the 143.5 total points!
