It's been 2 weeks no assistants announced. No players added yet just 2 offers to 2023 players & interest in a Marquette transfer. Could he have guys lined up and just not announce them yet?

We still have Young and Pryor coming so he's stopped the bleeding some.

Let's compare:
CSU hires Dennis Gates as the Vikings head men’s basketball coach on July 26, 2019 By Aug 8, we knew the following: Summers, Joyce and Bradley's DOBO Ryan Sharbaugh will be assistants. Dickey Nutt will be the student development guy and Goldstein, Florida State's video coordinator, will be DOBO.
That activity took less than 2 weeks.

It was also in July and the process had to be rushed. Robinson has the luxury of taking more time due to where we’re at in the process in April vs. July. Guys continue to hit the transfer portal every day, it’s not like the players are drying up.

I understand that we, as fans, would love to get some positive news after seeing Gates and two of our best players leave with him, but I'm not too concerned. Gates had a very small window to get a coaching staff and roster in place. Robinson has much more time. I'd rather see him take some time and get it right.
While it appears there will be big roster turnover, at the moment, it looks like some core guys are coming back. Hill, Johnson, Woodrich and Parker haven't entered the portal yet. That's not to say they won't, but I find it encouraging they haven't. Middleton and Beaudoin haven't entered either, but who knows what their status is. Do we even know if Beaudoin has any eligibility left?
Let's assume those four stay, that's not a bad core to build around for next season. If Middleton sticks, that would be a plus as well.
As for the rest, it looks like they are either out of eligibility or have entered the portal.

Like I said in another thread, all the players we lost including the two starters, production are easily replaceable ……..

I remain very concerned about the new coach. The only positive news is two players that were recruited by the old coach are not decommitting (yet). Zero adds to the current roster. One high school scholarship offer. Zero coaching staff news in more than 2 weeks. I'm not known for being the beacon of patience and waiting, but it just feels like there isn't a sense of urgency from the new coach.

I have to trust Garrett here...Pretty sure that the new Coach detailed his plan(s) to Garrett during the interview process...VERY highly regarded by his peers also. I, like you, would love to hear some good news, but I am trying to stay patient.

I just think Gates was better prepared to take the job running. He hired his staff quickly and already had players in mind that he could bring in.
Taking his time is not necessarily a great attribute. If you are not optimizing your options, your just burning cycles.

Gates had no choice but to rush his staff and he literally was taking any player he could get. He leveraged his network and relationships and got some guys who fit his style and culture, but they were also guys with no other options. They jumped at the offers. Now, Robinson has time and options. There’s no sense rushing to sign an inexperienced coach if he has a shot at a better one in a couple weeks. And no sense in taking guys with no other offers before going the distance with his top choices. Those options will all still be there in a couple months if Robinson strikes out. My guess is he won’t and we’ll be happy with his patience.

High Major Student Athletes gets a maximum of 5 days in the portal. Mid Major maximum of 3 days and Low Major maximum of 1 day. Since I'm using Durda logic at this time. The new CSU HC should have the Athletic Department release his schedule daily. This is to prove that he's actually working for Durda liking.

Where you have to coach against teams with 5 players and the winner of the HLT is quickly routed to a play-in game in some ones basement. Lets break out the quantum computers and analyze the crap out of this. Given his predecessor spent two weeks to figure it out. Ok, you got me. it's going to take at least a few more weeks to get the right personnel to win some OOC games.

Ok, you got me. it's going to take at least a few more weeks to get the right personnel to win some OOC games. I’ll say this another way. If Robinson’s first two commits were from a 6-4 no shot no dribble Juco guard without a single D1 offer out of high school or after a year of Juco, and a unranked Juco point guard who turned down his only offer from a D2 school to start a job, we’d all be up in arms. We have the hindsight now to know the types of players Gomillion and Beaudion are. But at the time of the offers? We all thought they were a desperation move to fill out the roster on the way to going winless.

I think we got lucky with Gates and how the team turned out. You hire a coach in late July 100 times, I think more times than not, it's a train wreck. It's the circumstances that made Gates a good coach in my mind. People who are good at what they do tend to make their own luck.
No idea how this guy will turn out. As I eluded to before, the HL can be characterized as watching old reruns of F-troop. If this guy takes his time, I'm really not too concerned. From a coaches point of view, the HL actually makes the risk reward not very favorable. You win, it's b/c the other teams are bad. You loose, you might become an assistant coach; but not very likely to be a head coach ever again.
I am rooting for Robinson to succeed. I don't follow HS or JUCO players. Thus won't form any opinion until I see them on the court. He will need to find some bigs to replace those that left. Spyder took a long time to develop.

How are people feeling after the Enaruna commitment? Still nervous or coming around?
Would be nice if we could add Jaden Walker from ISU as well…

I wonder I agree. This has been very frustrating to say the least. Everyone in the else is recruiting like crazy. So far we've sign just two( very promising two)And missed out on what could've been the best recruit in Cleveland State history today in Paul McMillan. Hopefully we can sign Elliot.

The lack of coaching staff moves is unusual to say the least. I still wonder how much was held up by the decision to fire the President.

You didn't miss out on anything today. McMillan is a major head case and his father is worse, which is pretty evident by the fact that he is headed to NJIT. Can you name another recruit rated that high that no one wanted to touch with a 10 foot pole? There is a reason CSU was in the running. It’s the type of risk mid majors have to take. Some times it bombs sometimes it’s Randy Moss at Marshall. This team needs talent even if questionable.

Still not worry, still think the projected startling 5 as it stand right now, assuming the transfers are immediately eligible right away we can compete in the HL right now…..Still Would like to see a backup big men added soon…..
