With both point guards currently on the roster bring seniors, this signing was huge. He can add depth next year and be in line to start as a sophomore. This also allows Hill to play off the ball if needed which adds depth there too. I agree, the one glaring need remains size. A backup center for next year/a potential replacement for Spider in 23-24.

This is why I was lol at the urgency people want this new coach to sign people immediately , I’m glad he getting ballers to sign, still looking for some height, would like at least one JC big and one HS big, legit 6’8 or taller ……

I’m dreaming of a future 3 headed guard attack of Drake, Young, and Pryor.
Similar to what Murray State did this year with their 3 guards (Brown, Hill, Hannibal)

But I also think Robinson will go with a lot of small ball lineups. Look at what Iowa State has historically done and look at what Robinson said about how he wants to play: up tempo, full court press, run and gun. This lends itself to smaller lineups. He may be content running a majority 3 guards, an athletic wing, and an athletic big. If Enaruna gets cleared, is he content with Johnson, Enaruna, and Middleton as bigs, Playing Woodrich and Williams as a wing, and then 3 guards at almost all times.

Nice player. Agree with everyone about the need for another 6'8" plus big, from anywhere. Things are looking up though.

This is a good point about the lineup. I’ve been saying Williams and Woodrich at the forward spots with 2 guards and a Spider. But it might be one of Williams/Woodrich with 3 guards. The problem with the bigs though, we’re counting Enaruna there in a rotation at 4/5 and he’s actually listed as a guard. He seems more likely to be the third guard (small forward) than backup center. I’m liking the potential of the lineup 1-4 with longer athletic wings and play making guards. And I love Spider. But I’d be worried going into the season with 6-6 Middleton as the only other 4/5 on the roster.

I mentioned elsewhere that Enaruna is consistently listed as a guard despite being 6-8. I think we may be making a mistake counting on him as a big even if he is eligible.

Weird to me he’s listed as a guard. He doesn’t really handle the ball from what I’ve seen. To me he’s a PF and played as one at Iowa State. In the highlight tape below, it’s a lot of flashing to the elbows and block and some nice post loves. Nothing here says guard. Also with his size in the HL he can get much better in the paint than in the Big 12.

Agree Frankie....he seems to be more of a "wing"...but size is size, and we need some more of it. Roster is shaping up though!...In the highlight above, he did all his scoring in the paint.

I could score double digits against them. But you’re right. Even when playing on the wing, it looks like he’s used to getting points in the paint and from starting with his back to the basket. That’s a skill we’ll need.
