As of the conclusion of the Wright State game, the Vikes are halfway thru the season. At the begining of the season, I had no expectations for this season. New HC, new players and no real gauage to go on. Starting off with a loss to a DII team only lowered expectations. Given that the HL is a 1 bid conference, the OOC games are a non factor. The HL standings are an impact in the HLT seeds and therefore are of importance to gain entry to the NCAAs. 10 more games left and 6 are at home. Given that 2 of the 3 Vike HL looses were close contests, the Vikes are still in the drivers seet in the HLT. And two of those games They could have won. Milwaukee lost in OT and NKU on a last second shot. They could easily be 9-1

None of the wins felt like a fortunate break (like if we would have won the NKU game), and 2 of the losses came in games where we misplayed the final seconds and last second shots went against us. Like they say, you are what your record says you are, so hopefully we have a couple go our way in the second half. Usually 5 ( or even 6) losses wins the conference. I still expect that to hold true even with NKU and Milwaukee at 2 losses right now. We’ll have our chance.

Milwaukee and NKU both have to go on the road A LOT in the second half of the schedule. Could be a huge difference for those teams.

Nice to see the game tomorrow being aired on Bally Sports Great Lakes What happened last year? I didn’t realize the game was being televised. That’s great. Such a missed opportunity, especially because they’re already being produced anyway.

I sat courtside and witnessed the incident last year. Some CSU fans sitting courtside were heckling Fort Wayne's team in general and after the game Damian Chong Qui came right up to those fans like 2 feet away swearing and asking them if they wanted to fight and a couple other Fort Wayne players got involved in the shouting too. There was nothing physical. Just a verbal confrontation. I remember we played Fort Wayne a week after that happened, and Scott Garrett sat courtside the entire game to make sure it didn't happen again.

Milwaukee lost to WSU tonight - and frankly it wasn’t close. UWM and NKU May start to come back to the field as they have more road games.

4 way tie for 1st at 9-3 and 2 games up on 5th place which is critical to be a top 4 team. I don't think it matters much if you are 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th but I think being 5th is huge because you have to play the 1st game on the road.
They need to bring back the highest seed hosting the tournament.
It is really stupid for a conference like this to play all year and 1st and 4th mean pretty much the same.
I guess a case can be made if you are 1st you play 8/9 team so you have a better shot to win 1st round but after that since all 4 top teams are equal it is a crap shoot.

Really should be 10-2 and in 1st place but totally blowing the Northern Kentucky game you never foul up 3 with 10 seconds left because now you can lose. If it was 4 seconds or less left and they have no timeouts then it is fine because they have to go length of the court if you miss the FT they have to rush it up.
When you miss a FT with 8 seconds left you give them plenty of time to get a good look at the 3 and now you can lose instead of just being tied.

Warrick had to hit a 30-footer at the buzzer to beat them. That's not a blown game. That's a prayer answered for Northern Kentucky game.

A reminder that the top 5 get a bye this year with only 11 teams. Top 4 is better because it gets you a home game, but finishing 5th still avoids the extra first round game.
