Since 2014, we—the students and professors of the Know Rivalry Project—have been answering this question for professional sports with the help of message board members. Now we are expanding our research to the Horizon League. Please help us ensure that Cleveland State mens basketball are included by taking 9 minutes to complete our updated survey: umassamherst.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3FdJ8eN2EgFCfCB?grpID=1472&mbsrc=SPB307Our previous results have been featured in numerous sports media outlets, as well as the Wall Street Journal and New York Times. You can view those results, links to media coverage, and learn more about us at our KnowRivalry.com website. We use the Qualtrics online survey software for data collection. This academic research has been approved by two universities' Institutional Review Boards (IRB) and it poses no risks to respondents. You'll find more information on the disclosure agreement that is required to start the survey. Thank you for helping us to include Cleveland State Mens basketball by participating and please share this with any other fans that may also help. Kathryn/Joe/David - I have just completed the survey and was happy to help. I encourage other CSU fans here to take the survey as well!

I just filled it out too. There’s an interesting documentary on the Ohio State-Michigan rivalry based off this research.

I feel like we are a program without a rival since Butler left. I think that has been a major part of the issue.

I feel like we are a program without a rival since Butler left. I think that has been a major part of the issue. I agree and even with Butler they were more our rival than we were theirs. I just hate a certain fan base and that’s how I answered my questions. Curious how others answered. In-state YSU and/or WSU should be rivals but I think each has developed more of a rivalry with their “travel partner” than CSU. Same for Detroit. Could Fort Wayne turn into a rival? Being good for a consistent period would help solidify some rivalries I think. Nobody has really thought twice about CSU for many years.
