We get underway tonight. Cleveland State enters as a 10 point dog. Tough early matchup. Would be nice to get off to a hot start once.

up at half! I'm listening on the radio. Tae and Lowder sound like they're looking good. Tristan didn't look wonderful in the exhibition and sounds like he needs to get more aggressive in this one.

Good first half. We made some mistakes or the lead could be bigger.

VERY impressed with the first half...hope we can keep it up. As I have said before, this team will be much better than last year's team.

Tae Williams is gonna be a real problem in the Horizon with his new shooting stroke and Lowder has incredible range!. Chase Robinson with some impressive minutes as well.

Good News: That’s about as good of a team as they will play in the Horizon.
Bad News: That is the type of win you need to get off the 16 seed. Coaching deserves to be criticized. Multiple times we fouled a 3 point shooter. Final play you have to draw something up to get the ball in Lowder’s hands.

I see now we had the lead with 2 mins to go and couldn't hold it. That's a shame.

Robinson said after the game he drew up a play to get the ball in Tae Williams' hands at the end to get him "downhill". I don't agree with that with how on fire Lowder was. We also had Woodrich that can make a three

Robinson said after the game he drew up a play to get the ball in Tae Williams' hands at the end to get him "downhill". I don't agree with that with how on fire Lowder was. We also had Woodrich that can make a three To have Williams attack the basket was a solid call…if he attacks the basket. He was blowing by his guy most of the night. With 7.5 seconds left, however, they didn’t spread the floor enough to allow him to exploit the matchup. Stevie Wonder can see the young man is not a shooter, he’s a scorer. When he didn’t, or couldn’t attack, Lowder is standing 6 feet away with no one close enough to close out. Pass the ball to the shooter. Nonetheless, the call should have been a 1-4 low set with TE setting the high elbow screen for the pick and pop with a drive and kick option to Lowder or Woodrich on the wings sliding down to the corner if they cut off his drive. BUT…that’s not why they lost last night. This team is definitely talented offensively. While Spider and Parker couldn’t throw it in the ocean from the beach, they brought a defensive toughness and intensity, but remember they didn’t gel defensively until about game 7-8. This group has the talent to play defense at a higher level (bigger, stronger and more athletic than last year) it’s just gonna take a minute. The rotation on the back side after the high double team was two steps slow all night. They got a LOT of uncontested layups and dunks because the back side defender didn’t slide down quickly enough. Lastly, I think Pryor is hurt. He’s dropped some weight, but he looks a little slower. Wait until he’s 100%, then he’ll be a contributor.

Why4 you beat me to it. From my perspective it was the defensive breakdowns down low that was the biggest problem. Coach has Arnett and Debrick who are both big and strong enough to defend the rim against every team on our schedule. I agree with your assessment that it will take several games that they'll hopefully figure it out. Btw, just a couple of missed FTs and the game goes to OT and maybe a different outcome. Otherwise it was a good game.

Hard to respond to this type of contest. The Vikes played good enough to win; but could not close it out. At the end of the day, it's a L. No other way to spin it.

If Tristan was more aggressive this game is won. Talented guy,but he needs a killer instinct.
