CSU just announced on Twitter that KJ Debrick is out for the season after having knee surgery. He played in 5 games this year. I wonder if he is eligible for a medical redshirt. Obviously a major hit to the team because he provided a capable big man off the bench for defense and a little offense as well.

A quick Google search shows (obviously not official) that to get a medical redshirt:
-Must be a season ending injury. In this case that is true.
-Injury must occur before the halfway point in the season. In this case that is true.
-Must not participate in more than 30% of the season's games. He has played in 5 games, CSU has 31 scheduled games this season, so he will have played in 16.1% of the team's games.
So by those standards, he should be eligible for a medical redshirt year, and have 2 years of eligibility left starting next year.
