bit.ly/3uUts2WThe Cleveland State women’s basketball team took home a vast majority of the postseason league awards today. The winners were: Player of the Year: Colbi Maples Newcomer of the Year: Mickayla Perdue Defensive Player of the Year: Carmen Villalobos Coach of the Year: Chris Kielsmeier In addition, Maples and Perdue were named to the All League first team, and Maples and Villalobos were voted to the all defensive team. Destiny Leo was a finalist for the conference’s sportsmanship award. Of note, amongst all the award winners, Maples has 1 year of eligibility remaining, and Perdue and Leo have 2 years remaining. If no one transfers out, CSU is set up to have a really nice run over the next couple seasons. Head Coach Chris Kielsmeier has done an amazing job. Every year, it seems he elevates the program to another level.
