Tough to get excited for a 5’8 PG. At this point I would hope they just go after grad transfers. I would rather leave these scholarships open for the new coach rather then put the new coach in a bad position of having to run players off.

Yep, Felton should concentrate on grad transfers. In fact, I would suggest regardless who is the coach at CSU, JUCOs, Grad xfers, Other DI xfers with immediate eligibility, DI xfers (who have sit out a year), and kids out of HS would be the order of recruiting. Developing talent is not a path to success at CSU. The coaches need to recruit players ready to play your system of ball.

I agree. Felton doesn't have the time and is on the Hot Seat. Beside right now there no loyalty from high schoolers they bolt after two year ie Tyree when u have to sit out your less likely to transfer.

I would take another 2 years of an Appleby type player I just don’t think this kid is that. The biggest issue was not surrounding Appleby with any quality talent. Guys on here can pretend that is team was growing but I talked to people involved in college basketball and everyone thought this team was the 4th-7th best team in the conference heading into next year. One person said they might have the 2 most talented team but Felton is inept as an in game coach. Said it was a huge issue down here at Georgia for him. These rankings were before the transfers.

I would rather leave these scholarships open for the new coach rather then put the new coach in a bad position of having to run players off. Let's briefly discuss an Appleby type player. Appleby was passed over by just about everyone. He was not built like a prototypical DI PG. A lot of recruiters tend judge by that model. Mainly because it's easy when casting a net across a bunch of players. That makes Appleby an outlier that had to prove himself in DI. Now this Dozier kid could be such an outlier. I have no idea; but it was easier to compare him to the normal PG attributes place him in the bucket that would struggle. I really did not have an issue with the recruit b/c of his size. We had Charlie and Oakland had another kid (i don't remember his name but he briefly played for the CAVs) about that size. Both played well in the HL. Note: I'm not saying we should focus on outliers. But, we might have to. Besides we already had a few of them. D' Bull, Cole, Charlie, Appleby, Bryne, ....... (I'm sure I missed some).
