What a mess. The scoreboards have been malfunctioning for some time now. Tonight was a total embarrassment. Good thing it was the last game until next fall. The number I saw for attendance was less than 3,000 but I thought it was the biggest crowd of the season, even larger than the IUPUI 4,000+. It was the most crowded I’ve felt at a game in ages. The energy was high at the start too and there actually was an audible student presence. The scoreboard delays definitely cut into the energy from the crowd but overall it was a good showing. I thought the team played one of their better games in the last month or so. Solid D, forced turnovers, fast break points, moved the ball around and through the zone, drove to the basket, knocked down threes, made free throws. They pretty much handled every aspect of the game. Too bad the NBA didn't leave that fancy scoreboard huh

Great Presser. Thanks for sharing. Interesting how they addressed "Seniors". Both Gomillion and Hodge deferred to Patton. Kind of makes you think they will be back next year.

I love this team. There were probably 10 examples in that press conference that showed off their unselfishness. They’re such great representatives of our university. I’m very proud to have them as the faces of the program.

I found it interesting that Coach Gates said in the press conference that he allows players to "veto" or "override" his substitution decisions, like when he was going to put Gomillion in for Hodge, Gomillion said no we should leave Hodge in. I've never heard of a coach allowing his players to override his decisions

The ESPN Predictor currently has WSU with a slight advantage of 54% over the Vikes on March 7, 2022.

The Vikes take on WSU at 7:00 PM ET in Indy. ESPNU for those of us that can not make it to the game.
It's PFW and NKU at 9:30 PM ET on ESPN2.

Wright State a 1 point favorite. I do not see a win for our beloved Cleveland State team tonight. Hope I am wrong but hard to beat a team 3 times in the same year.

LOL no one even created a thread for tonight's game on here. I really think this game is a toss up. Nothing in this game will surprise me.

Just a horrible half. Everything that could go wrong has. We sat in the zone way to long.

Just a horrible half. Everything that could go wrong has. We sat in the zone way to long. They are not bringing their A game. Missing simple layups leaving shooters open. Hodge needs to have one of those nights to counter the raiders shooting. Stupid turnovers with little energy.

They hit their first 5 threes in a row hard to recover from that.

Getting away from us now as they push the lead to 14 to being the half. Not feeling great Bob. We are 1/11 from 3 to boot.

Our centers have been brutally bad especially the backups. Combine that with the difference in 3 point shooting and it’s a miracle the game is this close.

Just not our night. Wright State played a good game. NIT likely 8 seed vs 1 of the top 4 teams left out at their house. Someone like an Indiana or Michigan type team.
Good season to get the 1 seed but kind of faded down the stretch but they did have 5 straight road games to end the year.

Need to upgrade talent. Need some more size as well. Too many junior college players that nobody else wanted.

Well that was an unfortunate outcome. WSU played very well and deserved the W. The Vikes could not buy a bucket. It's been a season of streaky shooting and today was one of those off nights.
Henry, the only starter not eligible to return is Patton.
Let's see how the Vikes fair in the NIT.

Don't be surprised if Hodge transfers Not surprised by much anymore. he's a good player and I'm sure there will be opportunities for him. I hope he stays for 1 more shot.

Don't be surprised if Hodge transfers what's with the negative vibe. There's no indication he's going to transfer

Don't be surprised if Hodge transfers what's with the negative vibe. There's no indication he's going to transfer Actually there has been some talk for a bit he might explore it. Nothing definite but I have heard it more then once. The reality is him transferring is probably in his best interest. He is capable of playing at a higher level. He has his degree and it would make sense for himself to want to challenge himself at the power 5 level. Plus all the extras that go with it. The quality of life is way better at those schools.

Good season to get the 1 seed but kind of faded down the stretch but they did have 5 straight road games to end the year. The current bubble 1st four out (as of today) is: Indiana, BYU, Dayton, and Virginia Tech. The good news: is the gap is not as wide as the # 1 seed in the NCAAs, if you make past the #1 seed, it get's easier, and none of them are on the west coast. It was bad news when the Vikes had to travel to Stanford the next day. The lack of momentum heading into the HLT was a big deal. Hopefully CSU was well compensated for the use of the Wolstein Center that led to all of those road games at the end of the season.

Ede what is it you like about this Boyer? He's a 3rd year juco player that played 29 minutes a game averaged 9.6 pts. Shot 34% from field & 31% from 3pt range. Numbers don't always tell the whole story but nothing impressive there.
